About The Role
40 Hours per week FTC for 8 Months
As an Ambulance Locality Manager with St John Ambulance, you’ll hold a pivotal leadership role to team(s) of ambulance crew in a locality area which could include one or more ambulance station. You will be responsible for the operational management of all regulated ambulance activity, ensuring that we deliver fully on all our contracts and provide the highest standards of care and customer service to patients and customers whilst doing so.
You will work with your Lead Crew to ensure that your ambulance crew are well led, effective and well trained. You will work with our specialist managers to that everything is in place to deliver on our commitments and contracts. Day to day your role will be varied and include operations, finance, people management and business development. You are responsible for leading people at various levels and across several locations, as well as managing our contracts and customers.
You’ll work closely alongside Volunteer Leaders and this close working relationship will enable us to unlock potential and deliver more services, supporting more communities and saving more lives. You’ll work together to ensure all our St John People receive caring and compassionate leadership, whilst ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and processes.

About You
Ideally, you will be an ambulance healthcare professional (although this is not an essential requirement) with significant operational experience and proven ability in a leadership capacity. You will be reliable and flexible with strong organisational and communication skills. You will have a proactive approach to the implementation of and adherence to policies and procedures and the desire to lead by example.
You’ll have a good working knowledge of the Care Quality Commission and understand how we meet regulation standards throughout all of our work.
This role will require frequent travel through the region as well as flexible working, so you must be open to regular regional travel. You will participate in our On-Call rota on a rotational basis to ensure all our people receive support as required.
