As a Systems Development and Support Analyst you will be responsible for maintaining and creating high-quality software solutions and managing existing systems. This will involve input and development as required on new software solutions and integration with existing systems, from conceptualizing, writing code and troubleshooting. Additionally, you will provide support to our internal customers on existing IT and user systems. This will also include reviewing and updating current documents and scripts.

You will be responsible for:

System Development, Coding & Customisation:

* Develop and configure system changes based on business needs, such as coding new systems, creating new forms, APIs, or reporting systems.
* Collaborate with colleagues to understand requirements and customise the system to meet those needs.
* Maintain current and new software/system scripts and coding.
* Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code for software applications.
* Conduct code reviews and perform testing to ensure code quality.
* Develop, implement, and test software and APIs.
* Contribute to software development projects with innovative ideas and solutions.
* Work closely with third-party vendors for more complex configurations, integrations, or system modifications.

User Support & Training:

* Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support to users and also addressing developed software related issues such as errors, access problems, or functional queries.
* Identify, diagnose and resolve system incidents, software issues or malfunctions efficiently, escalating to higher-level support when necessary.
* Assist in onboarding new users, including setting up access, creating user profiles including onboarding and user management of corporate systems and 3rd party portals.
* Provide IT helpdesk, software, applications and hardware support to IT customers when needed.
* Set up, install, implement, update appropriate software and hardware including corporate applications, desktop applications, PCs, Phones, Tablets, Scanners, etc.

Documentation & Reporting:

* Maintain accurate documentation of developed software, system configurations, issues, fixes, and changes.
* Prepare regular reports on system performance, user activities, and support metrics.
* Provide detailed system documentation for future troubleshooting and maintenance.

Testing & Quality Assurance:

* Test new system features, patches, and upgrades before they are rolled out to users.
* Ensure thorough testing of all configurations to maintain system stability and functionality.
* Conduct periodic audits of the system to ensure compliance with our standards and security policies.

Collaboration & Project Support:

* Collaborate with IT, operations, and business teams to support new initiatives or system improvements.
* Assist in system migration, integration, and upgrade projects, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal downtime.

Other:

* Maintain high levels of client and company confidentiality.
* Any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as directed by your line manager or Director.
* Work closely with the team to ensure any business critical IT issues are effectively resolved.
* Support with ad-hoc urgent system / IT issues as needed.

What We're Looking For:

* Full UK Driver license and access to a car for travelling to and working at other sites throughout the week.
* Bachelor's Degree in an IT or Computer Science (or equivalent).
* Experience with providing first and second line support is preferable.
* A technical understanding of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office and Office 365 / Azure / Entra / Active Directory and understanding of the requirements of a helpdesk and PC / Mobile Device Support role.
* Willingness to work with, diagnose problems with and install various software packages.
* Practical experience of a relevant programming language and relational databases.
* Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
* Willingness to learn SQL Server and Python
* Good organisational, problem-solving and analytical and technical skills
* Confident in handling queries, request and calls from all colleagues.
* Self-motivated, proactive and hard working.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels.
* Excellent general IT skills, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems.
* A strong team player.
* Strong knowledge of database management and system administration.
* Familiarity with system integrations (APIs, web services) and third-party tool integrations.
* Understanding of IT security and data protection principles.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality work.

Successful candidates will be subject to a basic or enhanced DBS disclosure dependent on the role. Permanent employment is conditional on having a satisfactory DBS check. You will therefore be asked to disclose any unspent convictions during the recruitment process.
