About the Role
We currently have an exciting opportunity to play a key role within our Parking Services Team. Reporting to the Parking and Traffic Manager, you will provide daily oversight and supervision for the team. Working collaboratively with the wider Highways, Transport and Environment Directorate, you will play a key role in our frontline service undertaking enforcement monitoring duties and managing customer, stakeholder contact and appeals.
A typical day would include supporting the Parking and Traffic Manager and working closely with our other Senior Parking Services Officer to ensure the delivery of parking services, by providing thorough, accurate and timely administration of adjudication, Court and bailiff process and queries within the Traffic and Parking Service.
You will act as a troubleshooter, providing officers with an escalation point, undertaking reviewing parking-related case work. Reviewing and approving customer and stakeholder correspondence will also be a focus, whilst ensuring our media channels and application processes for online appeals and permits are up to date and maintained.
About you
You will have excellent customer service and communication skills and be able to engage with internal departments, private businesses and customers. You’ll also be able to demonstrate oversight and supervision of staff and caseloads.
Having proven experience of operating at a supervisory level and within a customer focussed environment (ideally within parking enforcement), you will be able to build upon existing practice, whilst identifying areas to help the department continually improve. You would also be providing support to manage car park assets and equipment, undertake periodic financial monitoring and provide input into mass participation event enforcement planning.
Ideally you would have knowledge of statutory Civil Parking Enforcement functions (under the Traffic Management Act, 2006) and experience of administering the processes associated with Traffic and Parking Services.
Your style and approach will reflect our EPIC values: a commitment to continual learning and improvement for effective outcomes; valuing and respecting others' contributions; taking ownership of your actions and learning from mistakes when they occur; and enjoying personal responsibility to resolve issues and adapt your approach to make a difference.
