We are looking for a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Private Sector Disrepair Team who will utilise available enforcement powers to support the agenda of improvement within the built environment of North Lanarkshire.
The post presents an exciting and challenging opportunity for a customer focussed individual with considerable experience in a relevant area of work. You will be part of a team responsible for conducting programmed inspections of HMO and Short-Term Let premises, assisting the administration and enforcement of landlord registration, investigate enquiries regarding housing disrepair including failures of the Tolerable Standard and Repairing Standard, and the investigation of statutory nuisance complaints in relation to property disrepair whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. You will also assist in the implementation of strategies to address emerging statutory responsibilities and priorities.
It is essential that applicants hold a degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, and a REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health, or equivalent. You must also have a sound knowledge of current environmental health issues. In addition, you must have the ability to work to specific deadlines and possess excellent communication and IT skills.
A current driving licence is essential. REHIS membership is desirable.

Work pattern:
35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 08:45am - 16:45pm (including a 55 minute unpaid break)
Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm (including a 50 minute unpaid break)
