The company is a leading and established manufacturer of plastic parts and applications supplied to various industries such as automotive, aerospace, construction.
Salary: up to £40k per annum.
Shift: Day shift from Monday to Friday.
Location: Droitwich (commutable from Bromsgrove, Birmingham, Redditch, Kidderminster, Worcester, Dudley, West Bromwich).
Responsibilities
* Analyse Engineering and CAD drawings data to ensure manufacturing process is correct and efficient and accurate tool design.
* Ensure tooling orders are compliant with project requirements.
* Approval of tool designs, ensuring alignment with product specification and cost effective.
* Manage toolmakers to ensure adherence to quality and timeline expectations through the entire process.
* Resolve any manufacturing issues with tooling team and suppliers.
* Refine and amend any manufacturing process to optimise quality, cost and efficiency.
* Plan and oversee tooling trials.
* Prepare detailed documentation including work instruction, set up sheets and operating procedure.
* Conduct and present dimensional reporting to customers, addressing any technical enquiries or concerns.
* Provide technical support to manufacturing teams, troubleshoot any process related issues.
* Assist in resolving production inefficiencies and defects to maintain product quality.
Qualifications and experience
* Previous experience within a plastics thermoforming environment manufacturer within a process/project capacity.
* Proven experience in tooling, process development and project engineering within the plastics manufacturing industry.
* Knowledge of Solidworks software and able to interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience of managing tooling teams.
* Strong time management and organisational skills.
* A qualification such as a degree or HND/HNC in an engineering field would be advantageous but not essential.
* Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools for dimensional analysis and process validation.
* Ability to build professional relationships at all levels both inside the business and with suppliers/customers.
