Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our integrated Mental Health team at HMP Five Wells. HMP Five Wells is a category C resettlement prison based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire, and houses around 1,687 patients. In this role you will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team and will be supported by a second Psychiatrist who is also our national psychiatry lead.
Hours & Contract
 * Sessions on site between 9 am‑5 pm, Monday to Friday.
 * Position can be a part‑time role of 2 or 3 days per week, or a full‑time role split across two sites.
Salary
An annual salary up to £196,736 per annum depending on experience (FTE).
Legal & Vetting
Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and, due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Responsibilities
 * Provide excellent clinical care, assessment and treatment to patients on the caseload onsite.
 * Actively participate in the strategic direction of the mental health service, lead senior mental health clinicians on service developments and provide clinical supervision.
 * Work within the multi‑disciplinary team to review referrals, determine appropriate treatment plans, conduct risk assessments, and engage in multi‑professional complex case reviews.

Qualifications & Experience
 * Registered professional with current registration (GMC).
 * Specialist registration in either General Adult or Forensic Psychiatry.
 * Approved under section 12(2) of the MHS 1983.
 * Understanding of the complexities of multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency working.
 * Up to date knowledge in adult psychiatry and PD.
 * Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, policy and legislation.
