What's involved with this role: Interim Neighbourhood Manager – Housing Job Ref: K&C 5248676 Pay Rate: £26.56 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 36 Monday – Friday, normal working hours Role Length: This opening assignment is for 1-2 months City: Kensington, London The purpose of the role is to provide a housing and community service for residents in the Lancaster West area after experiencing the Grenfell tower tragedy. Key responsibilities: Demonstrate passion and drive to deliver an excellent service to customers at all times that results in increased resident satisfaction. Show strong customer focus, especially in the particular circumstances of the Grenfell tragedy, demonstrating sensitivity to local issues. Deliver service improvement projects across the Neighbourhood Team working with other departments and suppliers to get great outcome for the LW residents. Acting as first point of contact for housing issues received from the LW residents. Reporting service issues to suppliers and monitoring the resolution of agreed activities. Ensuring service budgets are administered and managed effectively. Build and maintain relationships with local residents, resident associations and suppliers to build and provide a service that meets the residents needs. Manage local apprentices and trainees as required, in line with Council frameworks and policies. Support your own personal and professional development by attending training events, coaching and seminars as required. To work positively and proactively as a member of the LWNT and the wider Council. To support the Neighbourhood Team by covering for absences / holidays as required. Deliver a Neighbourhood management Service that is customer focussed and provides value for money for the Council. Manage and enforce tenancy arrangements and leases through site inspections, customer contact and liaising with residents, suppliers and external suppliers and agencies to create a safe, comfortable and sustainable community. Ensure that local resident involvement opportunities are available to all residents and are tailored to the local area and the specific local issues. Qualifications: Educated to degree level or equivalent. Skills & Experience: Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector. Management experience. Extensive experience of working a housing services team. Experience of working in a physical, social and economic regeneration setting with a clear understanding of the challenges that presents. Experience of developing and sustaining successful relationships across the public, private and third sectors. Experience of negotiating with developers on behalf of an organisation to achieve desired objectives including driving hard commercial negotiations to ensure that the public purse is protected. Ability to get buy in and commitment to the service’s vision and priorities from key stakeholders and commitment to taking steps to ensure the involvement of all sectors of the community in all aspects of the services work. Political awareness and ability to advise senior elected members on policy choices and develop positive partnerships with elected Members. Continuously develop and update professional expertise and that of the team. Excellent analytical skills and ability to present findings to variety of audiences. Strong communication style and ability to create momentum and excitement about the service’s work. Strong ICT skills across all Microsoft products particularly Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
