The role involves supporting various financial and administrative duties to ensure an effective, efficient, and responsive service. Responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, reporting, journal preparation, and cashiering.
Main Duties:
1. Use the accounting system to inquire about customer/supplier details.
2. Handle daily queries related to customer/supplier ledgers.
3. Verify financial information with external customers/suppliers.
4. Produce purchase orders, invoices, and credit notes.
5. Update systems and ensure transactions are correctly matched and allocated.
6. Investigate discrepancies between the accounting system and other data.
7. Maintain and update departmental records.
8. Perform general administration duties.
9. Contribute to work development and the implementation of College Quality systems.
10. Follow Barnsley College Health and Safety policies.
11. Promote diversity, equal opportunities, and anti-discriminatory practices.
These duties may be amended by the line manager in consultation with the postholder.
