Role
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Engineering Geologist to support our Highways Geotechnical Department in delivering high-quality civil engineering projects across Yorkshire and the North of England at Align Property Services.
This role involves conducting geotechnical desk studies, geological ground modelling, risk assessments, and designing and supervising ground investigations, with travel required to sites. You will contribute to both concept and detailed geotechnical design, and optionally support construction supervision. Beyond technical work, you will help ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, assist in developing team capabilities through training and CPD, and uphold safety standards across operations.

Responsibilities
To be successful in this position, you will:
* Ideally be a Chartered or near-Chartered Geologist.
* Be experienced in geotechnical design with site experience at engineer level.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of geology and ground modelling.
* Have extensive knowledge of ground investigation techniques and their link to data acquisition and design.
* Be experienced in rock stability assessments and rock mass classification.
* Demonstrate expertise in engineering geomorphology and slope stability analysis.
* Be capable of terrain evaluation for both large-scale and site-specific areas.
* Demonstrate competency in preparing and reviewing health & safety documentation.
* Have high-level expertise in ground investigation planning, supervision, and management as well as in ground investigation procurement and ICE-standard specification.
* Be able to manage complex programmes, budgets, and multi-disciplinary project interfaces.
* Have a working knowledge of AutoCAD.
* Be familiar with geotechnical aspects of civil engineering design and construction.
* Have a strong understanding of Eurocodes and relevant standards.
* Hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
