As a Senior Care Assistant at Handley House, kindness will be at the heart of everything you do.
You’ll play a key role in delivering person-centred care that supports our residents’ dignity, independence, and well-being—while leading and inspiring a team of Care Assistants to do the same.
Every resident has a story to tell, and every member of our team understands they deserve care that recognises them as individuals. By joining us, you’ll have the chance to give something truly meaningful back—bringing comfort, connection, and compassion into someone’s day, every day.
Experience in a care setting—especially in a senior or team leader role—and an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) would be a great advantage. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with a calm, caring nature and a genuine passion for supporting others.
Planning and delivering personalised care that promotes security, dignity, and independence
Building meaningful relationships with residents and their families
Leading and supporting a team of Care Assistants to uphold high care standards
Providing physical and mental stimulation through social and recreational activities
Administering medication safely and accurately
Maintaining clear and accurate care records
Offering practical support with empathy – from mobility assistance to end-of-life care
Acting as a key point of contact for families and team members alike
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and therefore it is important that you are able to recognise the signs which may indicate possible abuse, harm or neglect in its different forms and know what to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if action is not taken.
