Head of HR
6‑Month FTC
Edinburgh - 5 days per week on‑site
We are recruiting a Head of HR on behalf of one of our transport clients for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, based full time on site in Edinburgh. This is a senior, hands‑on role requiring an experienced HR leader to oversee the full HR function and partner closely with senior stakeholders in a complex, operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strategic and operational HR leadership across the organisation
* Lead employee relations, including complex disciplinary and grievance cases
* Ensure compliance with UK employment law and HR best practice
* Oversee recruitment, performance management, reward, and workforce planning
* Lead organisational change, restructures, and consultation processes
* Manage and develop the HR team
* Advise senior leaders on all people‑related matters
Person Specification
* Proven experience at Head of HR or senior HR leadership level
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law
* Experience in transport, operational, or regulated environments
* Confident managing complex employee relations and change programmes
* CIPD Level 7 (or equivalent)
* Credible, pragmatic, and comfortable working in a fully on‑site role
