Description The Anglian Water Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) project currently involves the planning, design and construction of circa 320km of new strategic, large diameter, clean water interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure across Anglian Water’s region. The SPA Alliance is also taking on responsibility for the future interconnector pipelines, a further 260km of strategic interconnector pipelines and associated infrastructure. Responsible for assisting the survey leads with the undertaking of in the field ecological surveying which may encompass surveying for bats, badgers, ecological clerk of works (ECoW), great crested newts, hazel dormouse, National Vegetation Classification (NVC), ornithology, riparian mammals, river morphology, and/or UKHabs and hedgerow surveys. This role will be predominantly site based with no expectation to come to the Peterborough office. Candidates should be available to travel to site between the months of March and December 2026 (2-3 weeks per survey) to assist the survey leads with ecological surveys. LI-KP1 Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Supporting the survey leads where required with pre survey organisation and co-ordination including but not limited to TSPA and, hotel and hire car bookings Attending AW inductions including Passport to Work and pre-site briefings prior to undertaking any site work Assisting the survey leads with the collection and uploading of survey data to field maps whilst undertaking surveys Drive a culture of continuous improvement in Health & Safety (H&S), ensuring consistent H&S standards are maintained. Ensure completion of a full Induction to H&S in accordance with Company policies, procedures, standards &/or guidance. Ensure adherence to safe working practices including completing audits in line with schedule. Monitor and maintain compliance with the Working Time Directive. Ensure you are compliant with the use of mandatory safety monitoring equipment, near miss reporting and compliance with the company procedures. Maintain H&S standards to enable a zero-accident culture. Actively work with your team, line manager and the H&S Team to improve upon H&S procedures where possible. Report all near misses through the appropriate channel to prevent future accidents. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Has undergone training and holds valid certification for working in water Has undergone training and holds valid certification for first aid Excellent health and safety awareness. Good verbal and written communication skills Data collection skills with the use of ARC GIS on iPad Excellent organisational skills Qualifications Qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant environment or technical discipline.
