Overview
Electrically Biased Maintenance Engineer – Wigan. Salary: £47,333 + £1,000 for handovers. Shift pattern: 4 on 4 off (2 days, 2 nights, 7:00–19:00).
Responsibilities
* Support manufacturing processes by responding to equipment breakdowns and carrying out scheduled maintenance work.
* Proactively correct and modify machine processing faults to ensure repeat failures do not occur.
* Organise daily tasks to optimise available time.
* Diagnose issues and complete required tasks in a timely manner.
* Identify root causes and implement corrective improvements.
* Flexibly provide additional cover during sickness, holidays, and high workloads.
* Communicate effectively with other departments to build good relationships and ensure cooperation in completing work requirements.
* Respond efficiently and effectively to equipment breakdowns and maintain focus on the nominated production area.
* Accurately record all breakdown information and equipment condition using established and future systems.
* Be familiar with all aspects of machinery operation, proactively identifying running problems and applying corrections/modifications.
* Maintain GMP and hygiene requirements in line with standards; comply with all H&S requirements (legal and internal).
* Comply with engineering stores procedures and documentation.
* Work effectively within a shift structure to ensure technical cover at all times.
* Provide overtime cover as needed for holidays, sickness, maintenance shut-downs, projects, etc.
* Monitor machinery in production and carry out adjustments as necessary.
* Follow reasonable requests from supervisors.
* Fault find efficiently using machine historic information and documentation.
* Perform tasks and operate equipment only to the level of training and competence; comply with GMP standards and wear appropriate workwear correctly.
Skills & Experience
* Time-served apprenticeship.
* Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
* Demonstrable experience of working within a similar environment.
