Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the mathematics department, ensuring alignment with the school's educational values and standards.
* Develop and implement a comprehensive mathematics curriculum that meets the diverse needs of all students.
* Monitor and evaluate student progress and teaching quality, providing feedback and support to enhance instructional practices.
* Foster a culture of high expectations for both students and faculty, encouraging innovative and effective teaching strategies.
* Collaborate with other department heads and school leadership to ensure a cohesive educational approach throughout the institution.
* Organize professional development opportunities for mathematics teachers, promoting continuous learning and collaboration.
* Actively engage with parents and the community to build strong partnerships that support student success in mathematics.
* Stay informed on current trends and research in mathematics education to continuously enhance the curriculum and teaching methodologies.
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
* PGCE or QTS is required.
* Proven experience in a leadership role within an educational setting, ideally within the mathematics department.
* Strong understanding of curricular frameworks and effective teaching practices in mathematics.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
* Passionate about mathematics and committed to fostering a positive learning environment for students and staff alike.
* Experience with data-driven decision-making and student assessment strategies.
