Overview
This role is funded through the NHS Charities Together (NHSCT) Community Resilience Grants Fund. The grants fund aims to support Ambulance Trusts to increase community resilience in areas experiencing health and healthcare inequality. Yorkshire Ambulance Service NHS Trust (YAS) have secured funding from the grants fund to fund a two-year fixed-term post that will draw on the expertise of the Trusts Community Engagement and Community Resilience Teams to engage with disadvantaged communities and deliver a range of interventions that:
* Increase community resilience and community capacity
* Develop relationships between communities and the Trust
* Increase awareness of life-saving skills and YAS services
* Develop assets and resources within communities that can be sustained beyond the life of the project

Responsibilities
* Develop and lead community engagement programmes that use involvement, coproduction, training and education to deliver the objectives within the Trust’s Strategy
* Coordinate community engagement and community resilience activities, working across organisational boundaries to establish and deliver programmes of work
* Design, develop and deliver education and training interventions, covering use of and access to services, life-saving skills and volunteering and employment opportunities
* Design, develop and deliver a range of programmes for communities experiencing poor health outcomes and barriers to accessing services
* Use public engagement approaches to involve community members in the design, delivery and evaluation of training and education programmes
* Use public engagement approaches to seek out the views of the communities we are working with and their representatives
* Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement activities and programmes
