We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Maths Lecturer to join our team on a part-time (0.7), permanent basis. The role includes a regular commitment to evening teaching, supporting flexible access to learning for our adult students.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, inspirational teaching and access to learning for adult learners, providing teaching and assessment in line with awarding body requirements to support achievement. Carry a teaching load in line with the contract, including two evening sessions per week, and complete essential administrative tasks such as preparing schemes of work and assessments. Support adult learners in meeting their targets through progress tracking, reviews, and maintaining accurate records. Contribute to continuous improvement in teaching, learning, and the overall learner experience, focusing on attendance, retention, achievement, progression, and value-added outcomes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:

Hold a relevant degree (or substantial equivalent experience) in Maths, along with a Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification. Have experience in delivering and assessing Functional Skills and GCSE Mathematics, ideally within the FE sector. Demonstrate a proven track record of raising achievement in Maths with a diverse range of learners, and have experience in preparing and evaluating effective teaching and learning materials.

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£30,583 - £46,263), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

Accepted Qualifications:

DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)

Certificate in Education

PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)

DET (Diploma in Education and Training)

DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£25,611 - £28,817).

Not Accepted as Stand Alone Qualifications:

PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)

CTLLS (Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)

CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults)
