The Emergency Department team adopts a holistic approach to care and quality improvement. Main duties of the job
To support the multi-professional team by undertaking appropriate duties following assessment and planning by the registered nurse. Additionally, to support by undertaking non-nursing and ancillary duties.

Job responsibilities
1. Maintain effective communication and good relationships with children, parents, carers, relatives, and staff.
2. Accept delegated duties within your capabilities and competencies.
3. Complete documentation in accordance with Trust policy.
4. Participate in in-service training as required.
5. Chaperone children during medical examinations.
6. Maintain a standard of conduct and dress to uphold public confidence and promote the profile of healthcare employees.
7. Contribute to the prevention and management of untoward occurrences by responding to emergencies, summoning appropriate assistance, providing reassurance until qualified staff arrive, maintaining privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and a safe working environment.
8. Perform clerical duties associated with the efficient management of the paediatric service, including answering the telephone and relaying messages.
9. Check and maintain stock levels.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 3 in an appropriate subject (or on pathway) or equivalent qualification/experience.
* Literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 or Grade 4 or above in English and Maths.
* Experience of working within an acute setting.
* A Level in Health and Social Care.
Experience
* Recent relevant experience in acute care.
Knowledge
* Ability to assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate quality care.
* Ability to meet basic care needs.
* Ability to escalate clinical concerns appropriately.

Salary: £24,625 to £25,674 per year, pro-rata, per annum.
