Consultant Psychologist – Change Grow Live
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and develop psychology services and psychosocial interventions supporting individuals with drug and alcohol use issues.
* Provide regional leadership of services and people in Birmingham at a Band C (NHS) equivalent level.
* Deliver outstanding care through recommended specialised interventions as outlined in Drug Misuse and Dependence UK Guidelines on Clinical Management 2017.
* Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, providing expertise to support the delivery of evidence‑based interventions.
* Supervise staff and deliver monthly clinical supervision in partnership with the Head of Psychology and Psychological Therapies.
* Support the implementation of recommended models to meet people’s needs and adhere to the organisation’s psychosocial approach.
Qualifications & Experience
* Registered Psychologist with appropriate competencies (clinical, counselling or forensic).
* Demonstrated experience at Consultant or Band C level within an NHS or equivalent setting.
* Evidence of leadership in service delivery and people management.
* Strong understanding of drug and alcohol use interventions and psychosocial frameworks.
* Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
* Knowledge of the Drug Misuse and Dependence UK Guidelines on Clinical Management 2017 preferred.
Salary, Hours & Location
* Salary: £72,085.17 – £82,841.41 per annum (CGL scale 64‑70).
* Hours: 18.75 per week (pro‑rated for part‑time), with full‑time roles at 37.5 hours per week.
* Contract: Permanent.
* Location: Birmingham (service coverage across Birmingham hubs).
* Based from a local delivery hub – one of the Birmingham hubs.
