Roadside Technician
Brentwood, Essex – £40k (inclusive of London Weighting Allowance) + OTE of £60k (Full Time)
Join the RAC as a Roadside Technician and join the team that keeps the UK moving.
What you’ll do
* Provide quick, confident solutions for roadside incidents such as flat batteries, tyre changes and complex fault‑finding.
* Handle demand‑led shifts averaging 40 hours per week with optional overtime.
* Maintain your own RAC van, fuel card, full uniform and essential tools and diagnostic kit.
* Deliver outstanding customer service, staying calm under pressure and acting as a RAC ambassador.
* Work across the UK delivering expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics and emergency breakdown support.
What you need
* Level 2 light vehicle maintenance qualification (or equivalent) with proven technical, electrical and diagnostic experience.
* A customer‑focused approach.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Strong problem‑solving and people‑person skills.
* Ability to think on your feet and make the right call for each customer.
