Job title: Head of Secure Architecture
Location: Leeds, UK / Dublin, Ireland
Overview of the role:
We have an exciting new role in our Information Security team for a Head of Secure Architecture. You will lead a team of skilled security architects and engineers, shaping the security landscape and safeguarding our systems against threats.
You’ll be reporting into the Associate Director of Security Engineering in a team who all share a passion for our products and understanding of our customers behaviour.
You will be an experienced leader in the field of secure architecture committed to ensuring that our players always enjoy a secure, reliable, and compliant experience across our Poker, Casino, and Sports offerings. You’ll collaborate closely with international teams, providing strategic mentorship and technical expertise.
What you’ll do:
* Empower and guide a team of security architects and engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.
* Have a full understanding of application and platform security architecture.
* Have a solid foundation in platform security and will help to ensure that we can keep our public cloud, on premise and hybrid infrastructure safe from cyber threats.
* Identify and assess security risks, proposing effective mitigation strategies.
* Act as an internal consultant, advocating for security principles and practices.
* Ensure alignment to our security standards and regulatory requirements.
* Work closely with other information security teams to provide a consistent approach to cyber security.
What you’ll bring:
* Strong leadership experience in developing and leading senior technical people.
* Significant experience in the cyber security arena with a strong focus on secure architecture practices, ideally within agile and fast paced environment.
* End to end security architecture frameworks experience, covering data, application, and infrastructure layers.
* Experience defining both data plane and control plane security controls for cloud environments ensuring there are no toxic combinations.
* Extensive experience in defining security controls for multi-tenancy platforms with various API driven integration points and data streaming services.
* Cyber threat modelling for secure product development.
* Technical “hands-on” experience deploying complex solutions and designing countermeasures to identified security risks.
Your Skills:
* Ability to perform security assessments using threat modelling, playbooks, and security patterns to identify weaknesses and appropriate treatment of risks for associated threats.
* Ability to identify toxic combinations of design weaknesses in both data and control planes and provide effective remedies.
* Ability to provide security patterns, hardening and vulnerability remediation advice.
* Ability to apply cybersecurity and privacy principles to organizational requirements (relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, non-repudiation).
* Understand the context of requested changes and ensure that implementation does not weaken the security posture.
Requirements:
* Be able to work with multiple teams across the business with differing priorities.
* Sound understanding of cybersecurity standards, methodologies, and frameworks.
* Sound understanding of network access controls and identity and access management.
* Versed in modern authentication and authorisation practices of zero-trust architectures.
* In-depth knowledge of each security domain and how each domain relates to support a secure platform.
* A keen interest in learning innovative technologies and a passion for information security.
* Be able to drive initiatives & operate autonomously with support where needed with limited supervision.
* Apply a pragmatic and balanced approach to security risk against delivery timelines and business objectives.
