Salary: £12.25 – £12.45 per hour (depending on qualifications)
Location: Glenholme Healthcare – 67 Saltdean Drive, Brighton, BN2 8SD
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift pattern: Long days 08:00am – 21:30pm.

We're currently recruiting male Support Workers to join our Brighton team at 67 Saltdean Drive, supporting a young man with learning disabilities and autism in a 1:1 supported living environment.
This is not a rushed, task-focused role — it's about relationships, routine, trust, and shared experiences.
About the Individual You'll Be Supporting
You will be supporting a young adult male who is full of energy, character, and enthusiasm for life. He enjoys:
* Being active and out in the community
* Long walks and swimming
* Going bowling or to the cinema
* Eating out and visiting cafés and pubs
* Shopping trips and choosing his own food
* Travelling independently by public bus
* Attending college and structured routines
He thrives with consistent, calm, confident support
and benefits from clear communication, reassurance, and positive role modelling. At times, he can become anxious, which may lead to behaviours of concern however, you will not be alone.
You will work closely with our in-house Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Lead, following clear, person-centred strategies to reduce anxiety, promote emotional regulation, and prevent escalation. Glenholme prioritises supporting staff just as much as supporting service users.
About the Service – 67 Saltdean Drive
67 Saltdean Drive is a modern, welcoming supported living service set in a peaceful residential area of Brighton. The home offers:

The service is designed to promote independence, dignity, choice, and inclusion, while providing the right level of support to help the individual live life on their own terms.
Pay & Career Progression
We believe in recognising skills, experience, and commitment:
* £ per hour – Entry rate for new starters
* £ per hour – With verified Care Certificate (or complete one with us – fully funded)
* £ per hour – With verified Level 2 or Level 3 Health & Social Care qualification (or gain one with us – fully funded)
What You'll Be Doing
* Providing person-centred support tailored to one individual
* Supporting personal care with dignity and respect
* Administering medication and maintaining accurate records
* Supporting meal planning, cooking, and healthy living
* Assisting with travel to college, appointments, and activities
* Encouraging independence and confidence in daily life
* Supporting community access, social activities, and hobbies
* Working collaboratively with PBS and management teams
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in care (essential)
* A calm, patient, and compassionate approach
* A good sense of humour and positive attitude
* Confidence supporting someone with autism
* Flexibility to work long days or waking nights
* A genuine desire to make a lasting difference
