GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to work at a warm and welcoming primary school in Battle. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys working in an inclusive, values-led environment and is ready to support children across the primary age range. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils across Key Stages 1 and 2. You will work alongside class teachers to assist with classroom activities, help deliver differentiated learning, and offer individual or small group interventions where needed. Your role will be vital in maintaining a positive learning environment and supporting students in achieving their full potential academically and personally. Teaching Assistant Responsibilities: Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and accessible lessons Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, tailoring your approach to their individual needs Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting a calm, respectful learning environment Prepare learning materials and classroom resources Monitor pupil progress and communicate effectively with teaching staff Encourage positive learning attitudes and celebrate student successes Uphold the school’s values and contribute to its caring ethos Supervise pupils during breaktimes or outings when required Follow school safeguarding policies at all times Participate in staff training and school events Requirements for TA: Experience working with children in a school or similar setting as a Teaching Assistant or similar A degree in Education, Psychology or a similar field. CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare is desirable but not essential A calm, compassionate, and adaptable approach to supporting learning Strong communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to supporting the emotional and academic development of primary-aged pupils An understanding of classroom routines and behaviour strategies Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) Why Join GSL Education?
