Responsibilities: Surface Preparation : Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and filling holes or cracks, as necessary. Painting and Staining : Apply paint, varnish, or other finishes to various surfaces such as walls, ceilings, doors, and furniture using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment. Colour Matching : Ensure accurate colour matching and consistency throughout the painting process, following designated colour schemes and brand standards. Surface Protection : Protect surrounding areas and furnishings from paint splatter or damage during painting tasks. Equipment Maintenance : Maintain and clean painting equipment and tools regularly to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Quality Control : Inspect finished work to ensure it meets quality standards, addresses any touch-ups or corrections promptly as needed. Safety Compliance : Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling of chemicals and materials. Team Collaboration : Coordinate with other maintenance and facilities teams to schedule and prioritize painting projects efficiently. Documentation : Maintain accurate records of paint colours, quantities used, and completed work orders. What we require from you: Level 3 in either City & Guilds or NVQ equivalent Experience : Previous experience in painting and decorating, preferably in a hospitality or commercial setting, is desirable. Skills : Proficiency in various painting techniques, colour mixing, and surface preparation. Ability to use painting tools and equipment effectively. Attention to detail : Strong attention to detail and an eye for quality craftsmanship to achieve professional results. Time Management: Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines. Communication : Good verbal communication skills to collaborate with team members and follow instructions accurately. Physical Stamina : Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, bending, lifting, and climbing ladders as required. Safety Awareness : Knowledge of safety procedures and practices related to painting and working with chemicals.
