Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Ensure that all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met during the execution of maintenance tasks.
2. Report any accidents or near misses as required by our health and safety policy.
3. Raise relevant work permit requests. Accept and follow the permit, isolation procedure, and other related safe systems of work to complete the task. Complete and/or contribute to risk assessments associated with all maintenance duties expected for the role.
4. Complete scheduled maintenance as per the company maintenance plan to support the running of the production site.
5. Identify and rectify equipment defects related to your specific trade.
6. Assist the Workshop Manager in proactively driving a culture of safety performance (BBS, Near Miss reporting, TBT’s, Chemical Awareness, Process Safety Management).
7. Participate in AINM’s (Accident, Incident, Near Miss) reviews and assist in the evaluation of the safety status of the workshop.
8. Participate in safety management activities including routine plant safety.
9. Ensure work is carried out safely and as per company guidelines.
10. Ensure job is right first time, minimize rework on equipment by working to Quality & Performance Standards.
11. Engage in fault finding and improvement activities to reduce repeat equipment failures.
Skills & Qualifications
1. Relevant Trade Qualification as an Instrument Technician.
2. Ideally with a recognised Level 3 education certificate, such as NVQ or HNC, in a relevant engineering field.
3. Highly driven and self-motivated, KPI focused.
4. Enjoys working under pressure in a manufacturing setting.
5. Good organizational skills.
6. Excellent communicator, comfortable working in highly technical or shopfloor environments.
7. Experience in maintenance, calibration, and testing of temperature, pressure, flow, level & analyser instrumented systems, and other miscellaneous plant instrumentation.
8. Familiar with using computers for allocating, receiving, and signing off maintenance work.
