Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Lead Location: Across multiple supported living services in London, Hertfordshire & Essex

A respected and expanding supported living provider is seeking a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Lead to champion and embed high-quality, evidence-based PBS approaches across its services. Supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and mental health needs, the organisation promotes person-centred, trauma-informed, and rights-based care that improves lives and reduces behaviours that challenge.
This is a key leadership opportunity for a passionate and experienced PBS practitioner ready to shape practice and deliver meaningful outcomes across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the implementation and ongoing development of PBS strategies across services.

Conduct functional behavioural assessments and develop person-centred PBS plans.

Support staff understanding of behavioural functions with compassion and dignity.

Deliver training, mentoring, and reflective practice sessions in collaboration with local PBS champions.

Work closely with individuals, families, and professionals to ensure joined-up support.

Promote alternatives to restrictive practices and support restraint reduction initiatives.

Monitor PBS implementation using data and quality assurance tools.

Support compliance with CQC and other regulatory requirements.

Participate in safeguarding processes, incident debriefs, and service improvement planning.

Essential Criteria: Relevant qualification in Psychology, Behavioural Science, Health & Social Care, or related field.

Experience applying PBS in social care settings supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, and/or mental health needs.

Strong knowledge of behaviour analysis, person-centred planning, and functional assessment.

Proven ability to create and implement PBS plans that deliver measurable results.

Excellent training, communication, and coaching skills.

Solid understanding of safeguarding, the Mental Capacity Act, and social care regulatory frameworks.

Desirable Criteria: Postgraduate qualification or certification in PBS, ABA, or related field.

Experience working across multiple or community-based services.

Training in trauma-informed care, leadership, or restraint reduction.

Membership of professional bodies (e.g., UK-SBA, BILD ACT, BPS).

Personal Attributes: Compassionate, values-led, and person-centred in approach.

Calm and analytical in high-pressure situations.

Skilled in building trust with individuals, families, and professionals.

Committed to continuous learning and service improvement.
