We’re currently seeking a driven individual that has a basic to intermediate understanding of mechanical knowledge to join our team as a Trade Assistant. This role provides support to our mechanical tradespeople and wider workshop based team to ensure our high standards in maintaining and upkeeping our fleet are consistently met. Come on board with Busways at our Ryde Depot.
What We Offer:

5. Base rate of $31.21 - $35.81 per hour, depending on skills and experience
6. Attendance Allowance: $15.08 payable on rostered worked hours
7. Annual Leave: loading of 17.5% - 20% (dependent on consecutive shift type and pattern)
8. Up to 5 weeks annual leave (dependent on consecutive shift type and pattern)
9. 15 dayssick leave accrued annually
10. Eligible for long service leave after 7 years

Role Responsibilities:
This role requires a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:
19. Removal and fitment of Window Film Tint to vehicles
20. Applying Decals and undertaking other project activities as required
21. Performing minor repairs and service of vehicles and equipment, in a timely manner, within your skill level and experience under the supervision of a qualified tradesperson
22. Moving buses within the yard, parking and refuelling them
23. Pick-up and delivery of parts and other objects as required by the Workshop Supervisor or Leading Hand
24. General yard/workshop cleaning and maintenance
25. Store duties as and when required by the supervisor
26. Performing other general, non-trades services as directed
27. Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties
28. Maintaining clean workshop practices
29. Maintaining and performing all workshop practices in a manner that adheres to all Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations
Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.
You can expect to be provided with all necessary training, this will include relevant information about our various makes and models of vehicles to ensure a thorough understanding of standards required to meet contract obligations.

The Successful Applicant Will:

38. Be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have unrestricted working rights in Australia
39. Hold a current Unrestricted Australian drivers licence issued by the relevant State
Highly Regarded:
40. Experience in a similar role and environment is preferred, however, not necessary as we are willing to train and develop the right individuals for the position.
