FOOD AND BEVERAGE MANAGER
This is an exciting leadership opportunity for a highly motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to shape, develop and grow a modern food and beverage offering within a thriving Club setting. This is a full time, permanent position.
This is a hands-on leadership role, reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Lead / Sous Chef to deliver an exceptional food and beverage experience, while working within and achieving agreed financial and commercial targets.
As Food & Beverage Manager, you will lead, manage and develop the Club's food and beverage operations, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service aligned to the Club's standards and values.
Summary of duties within this role include, but are not limited to:
Embedding high service standards across the team and leading the consistent delivery of exceptional food and beverage service. Ensuring strong product knowledge across menus, wine lists and service standards.
Managing customer feedback and resolving issues professionally.
Ensuring compliance with food safety, allergen management, Health & Safety and licensing legislation - Taking proactive action to address any compliance or operational issues.
Identifying and implementing opportunities to grow revenue and enhance the food and beverage offering.
Building long-term relationships with Members, guests, clients and event organisers.
Managing the food and beverage operation within agreed budgets and performance targets, controlling costs, labour productivity and supplier performance.
Managing rotas, payroll administration and casual staffing arrangements.
Using EPOS, CRM and operational systems effectively to drive performance and efficiency.
Providing clear, motivating leadership to create a high-performing, engaged team. Creating a collaborative culture aligned with The Ancient Links' values.
Full line management responsibility including recruitment, induction, training and performance management, with the support of the HR Department
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety and presentation across all F&B areas.
FOOD AND BEVERAGE ASSISTANT & SUPERVISOR POSITIONS
We are seeking a friendly, reliable Food and Beverage Assistants and Supervisors to join our team and help deliver a high-quality food and beverage experience to our members and visitors. We have full time, permanent positions and also fixed term seasonal roles available.
This is a customer-facing role suited to someone who enjoys working in a lively hospitality environment and takes pride in providing great service.
As a Food and Beverage Assistant, you'll support the day-to-day running of the Club's bar and catering facilities, ensuring members and guests receive a warm welcome and efficient service at all times. You'll work as part of a close-knit team and play a key role in creating a positive experience for everyone who visits the Club. This is a hands-on role offering variety, responsibility, and the chance to be part of a team that delivers a first-class experience to everyone at The Ancient Links Golf courses.
As a Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will undertake the same role as a Food and Beverage Assistant but with additional supervisory responsibilities. This hands-on supervisory role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day service delivery during assigned shifts, ensuring service standards, compliance requirements and presentation expectations are met at all times. You will lead by example on the floor, support and guide colleagues, handle customer issues professionally, and contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of our Food & Beverage services.
Key Responsibilities
· Serving food and beverages in a polite, friendly and professional manner
· Taking accurate food and drink orders and processing payments through the till system
· Maintaining knowledge of menus, bar offerings and daily specials
· Clearing, cleaning and resetting tables to a high standard
· Assisting with functions and events, including set-up and clear-down
· Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of bar and dining areas
· Following all Health & Safety and food hygiene procedures
· Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Club
Supervisory Responsibilities
Oversee service delivery during assigned shifts, acting as the first point of contact for operational issues, customer queries and team support.
Support the Food & Beverage Manager in ensuring consistent service standards across all food and beverage operations.
Ensure the team is fully prepared for daily service, events, functions and reservations, with all service items clean, presentable and ready for use.
Handle customer complaints and service issues professionally, taking appropriate action and escalating where necessary.
Provide day-to-day guidance, direction, training and on-the-job support to colleagues, including new starters.
About You
Previous experience in a bar, restaurant or hospitality environment is desirable
Friendly, approachable and confident dealing with customers
Reliable, flexible and able to work as part of a team
LEAD / SOUS CHEF
We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on Lead / Sous Chef to help shape and grow our new food and beverage operation from day one. This is not just another kitchen role. This is an exciting opportunity to step up into a supporting leadership role within a rapidly developing operation, working with the Food and Beverage Manager and reporting to the General Manager directly. The successful candidate will be fully involved in building their own team, fostering an inclusive culture, and growing alongside the business as it evolves. This is a full time, permanent position.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Lead day-to-day kitchen operations including prep, service and stock control
Design and develop innovative, commercially viable menus
Ensure exceptional standards of food quality, presentation and consistency
Maintain full compliance with food safety, allergen and hygiene regulations
Manage food costs, labour and wastage in line with budget targets
Recruit, train and develop your brigade as the operation grows
Build strong supplier relationships with an emphasis on quality and sustainability
Drive a positive kitchen culture focused on teamwork, professionalism and pride
We're looking for someone who:
Has experience as a Senior Chef, Sous Chef or similar leadership role
Is confident running a kitchen and leading a team
Has strong commercial awareness and understands cost control
Is organised, resilient and calm under pressure
Professional culinary qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC or equivalent) are desirable. Food Safety Level 3 and additional H&S qualifications would be advantageous.
CHEF – VARYING LEVELS
Responsibilities will vary depending on position and experience but will include involvement in all aspects of kitchen operations, such as:
Contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of kitchen operations, including food preparation, service, stock control and maintaining a well-organised working environment.
Prepare and present food to consistently high standards, ensuring quality, consistency and attention to detail at every stage of service
Adhering to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures
Supporting smooth day-to-day kitchen operations
Working collaboratively as part of a wider food and beverage team
Support the delivery of menus to exceed guest expectations
Hours:
Annualised hours contracts, working 2,080 hours per annum, rota-based shifts including evenings and weekends
Fixed Term hourly contracts throughout the golfing high season, availability for hours to be discussed at interview
