Fire Systems Package Manager – Heathrow

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Fire Package Manager to join a tier 1 contractor team, supporting the delivery of the T2 Baggage Programme. The successful candidate will manage the design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover of fire systems within a complex, live aviation environment.
Key Responsibilities
Promote and implement best practices and safety initiatives across design and delivery, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment.
Set clear, measurable objectives for yourself and others, driving accountability and performance against project milestones.
Manage supplier packages during the design phase, including technical, risk, and commercial management.
Lead the development of installation, commissioning, and handover strategies, including review of client deliverables such as baggage system solutions.
Drive constructability improvements and champion modern methods of construction and safety by design throughout all project stages.
Review and challenge high-level control strategies to ensure system integration and reliability.
Support procurement and commercial teams in developing scopes, budgets, and incentivisation strategies.
Coordinate and manage specialist inputs into design, specifications, and commissioning strategies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Strong understanding of high-level controls, systems integration, and multidisciplinary engineering.
Solid technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and control systems within complex infrastructure projects.
Proven experience working within the aviation sector or other highly regulated, live operational environments.
Experience in package management of subcontractors across both ECI (Early Contractor Involvement) and delivery phases.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence teams on complex programmes, achieving buy-in and driving delivery.
Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands in a fast-paced project setting
