Detailed job description and main responsibilities Comply with all UHL policies and procedures including those relating specifically to pharmacy, in particular the Leicestershire Medicines Code The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Code of Ethics for Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians must be adhered to at all times. Supporting the Chief Pharmacist in specific pharmacy management issues and projects and contribute to the overall organisation, administration and management of the Pharmacy department Contributing to and/or conducting relevant clinical audits to facilitate Clinical Governance requirements Undertaking and documenting continuing professional development. Participating in rostered flexible shift working including evening, weekend and bank holiday arrangements in line with service commitments. Including dispensary work when required Undertake on call duties as required by the needs of the service Undertaking any other duties that may reasonably be required as agreed by senior staff. Please see job description/person specification for further details on the role Person specification Training & Qualifications Essential criteria Masters level degree in pharmacy Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council Postgraduate clinical qualification or experience to an equivalent level Postgraduate Clinical qualification or equivalent level of knowledge gained through extensive experience Specialist knowledge acquired through post-graduate diploma Registered as an Independent Prescriber or ability to complete training upon appointment Desirable criteria Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain Evidence of Leadership development/qualification • Evidence of Practice Evidence of Practice Research projects undertaken Membership of NPPG Membership of UKCPA Supervisory/management training/qualification Registered Independent Prescriber Experience Essential criteria Relevant Equivalent post registration experience in hospital pharmacy Medical/nursing and pharmacy staff training Implementation of change affecting pharmacy and other disciplines Experience of conducting and managing audit or research projects Management experience with responsibility for pharmacists and other associated staff groups Evidence of achievement in the capacity of clinical/ward pharmacist. Extensive clinical experience within Women's and Children's Demonstrable continuing professional development (CPD) Evidence of involvement in service development Implementation of change affecting pharmacy and other disciplines. Disclosure and Barring Service Check Please note if you are successful in obtaining this position and the post involves regulated activity you will be required to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service check. The Trust will pay for the check initially and the money will then be deducted from your salary over a three month period commencing on your first month's payment. The current price of a check is £38 for an enhanced and £18 for a standard check.
