Geotechnical Engineer; Edinburgh
First People Solutions is recruiting for a Geotechnical Engineer to join a well-established Consulting Engineer. Our client delivers innovative engineering and design solutions across several key sectors in the UK. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale geotechnical projects, contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking engineering team, and play a key role in their continued success.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and check design calculations and specifications for geotechnical works such as bearing capacity, settlement, slope stability, and earthworks
* Conduct feasibility studies, ground investigations and design
* Assist in the delivery of the design of geotechnical elements of existing and future projects
* Prepare calculations, drawings and relevant documents and ensuring these are monitored during project lifecycle
What we need from you
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, Earth Science or equivalent
* 3 years of professional experience working with a design engineering consultancy in the UK
* Chartered (CEng) status or close to
* Relevant experience, knowledge and skill of geotechnical principal and standards
* Knowledge of relevant geotechnical design software
* Full UK driving licence
