Overview: You will support the project engineering team in delivering improvements to equipment and operations. You will work on various projects that add value to the business and have a significant impact, with responsibility for driving business improvements. The role primarily involves leading and managing Capital Expenditure projects, such as equipment upgrades, building alterations, and M&E projects. Additionally, you will be involved in energy-saving and sustainability projects.
This role requires balancing time in the factory—engaging with the team and evaluating current operations—and working in the office—discussing with departments, developing project specifications, and creating business cases.
Ideal candidates will have experience leading food or pharmaceutical projects from conception to completion, including data analysis, project and financial management, equipment specification, installation, and commissioning. You will interact with teams across the business, including Health & Safety, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Technical. There is excellent potential for personal development as the company grows.

Responsibilities:
* Deliver multiple simultaneous Capital projects at our Trowbridge site to improve safety, costs, quality, environmental impact, and production capacity.
* Act as the primary contact for day-to-day management and delivery of projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
* Collaborate with the Business Sponsor and key stakeholders to define project scope and objectives and secure approval.
* Plan and coordinate all project phases, including supplier management, procurement, stakeholder engagement, resource allocation, and managing dependencies.
* Manage scope and change control processes, escalating significant changes for approval.
* Implement governance controls such as meetings, reporting, and project logs.
* Manage Risks, Issues, Assumptions, and Dependencies, escalating when necessary.
* Ensure maintenance information is provided for equipment reliability, safety, and compliance.
* Introduce new technologies, including robotics, automation, and AI-based systems, for competitive advantage.
* Collaborate across teams to achieve safety, quality, cost, and service objectives.
* Drive innovations to improve product quality, reduce waste, and enhance sustainability.
Qualifications/Personal Qualities:
Essential: Excellent communication and project management skills; proven experience in managing complex capital projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; strong problem-solving skills; focus on continuous improvement and lean processes; good financial acumen.
Desirable: Degree or equivalent in engineering; experience in chilled/frozen food manufacturing; factory build experience; collaboration with management teams; industry qualifications in Health & Safety, HACCP, Food Hygiene; Project Management Qualification.
