Residential Night Care Workers
to join a well-established childrens residential care team in
Selby. This is a vital overnight role where youll provide high-quality, consistent care and emotional support to children who have experienced trauma and need a safe, nurturing environment.
What Youll Do:
Remain awake and present throughout the night, offering a calm, therapeutic presence
Support children and young people in crisis, helping them regulate emotions using trauma-informed care practices
Ensure each childs individual care and safety needs are met overnight
Work in line with agreed care plans, contributing to their ongoing development and wellbeing
Build meaningful relationships that support emotional healing and long-term positive outcomes
Working Pattern:
Average 40 hours per week
Rota options include 4 on / 4 off or fortnightly patterns
Overtime opportunities available
What Were Looking For:
Experience in a care or support role, ideally with children or young people
Understanding of trauma-informed, therapeutic practice (training will be provided)
Resilient, emotionally intelligent and committed to supporting vulnerable young people
A calm, patient, and supportive approach
especially when young people are in crisis
