1. Supervising Care Staff
Conduct
spot checks
and
supervision visits
to ensure care workers follow policies, procedures, and care plans.
Provide
support, coaching, and feedback
to care workers.
Address performance issues and escalate concerns as needed.
2. Conducting Client Assessments
Carry out
initial needs and risk assessments
for new service users.
Participate in
care planning
and reviews, ensuring care plans reflect current needs.
Monitor and update documentation in line with changes in client condition or preferences.
3. Ensuring Quality of Care
Ensure care is delivered in accordance with
CQC standards
(or relevant local regulatory requirements).
Promote
dignity, respect, and person-centred care .
Identify and act on safeguarding or health concerns promptly
4. Liaison and Communication
Maintain open communication with clients, families, healthcare professionals, and the office team.
Respond to service user queries, concerns, or complaints and follow up to resolution.
Ensure continuity of care and appropriate coverage during staff absence.
5. Documentation and Compliance
Keep accurate records of supervision, assessments, incidents, and service delivery.
Ensure staff complete documentation correctly and promptly.
Support audits and contribute to compliance reports.
6. Training and Development
Identify training needs among staff and arrange or deliver refresher training.
Ensure care workers are competent in medication administration, moving & handling, and other key areas.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
7. On-Call and Emergency Support
Participate in
on-call duties, providing emergency support and staffing coordination outside office hours when required.
