Shape the Future of Supplier Partnerships & Supply Chain Excellence
Are you a strategic supplier relationship leader ready to influence how one of the UK’s most recognisable engineering organisations partners with its key suppliers to deliver projects shaping our nation’s future?
This is your opportunity to join a household-name business at a pivotal point of growth and transformation, evolving from mid-size to a £1bn+ industry leader while powering the UK’s energy transition.
You’ll be part of a modern, insight-led supply chain team, redefining how strategic supplier relationships drive large-scale engineering success.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, you’ll own and lead strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) across key manufacturing and engineering portfolios.
This isn’t transactional procurement - it’s about building, managing, and maturing critical supplier partnerships. You’ll use data, insight, and influence to align global suppliers to complex project needs, drive joint value creation, and embed robust performance and relationship governance across major national infrastructure programmes.
Key Responsibilities:
* Act as the primary strategic partner for a portfolio of key global suppliers, strengthening collaboration, trust, and long-term value
* Lead end-to-end supplier relationship management: governance forums, relationship reviews, action plans, and escalation management
* Drive supplier performance management, including KPIs, scorecards, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Use data and analytics (e.g. Power BI) to track performance, identify trends, and unlock opportunities for innovation and cost, quality, and delivery improvement
* Support project teams through proactive capacity planning, demand forecasting, and early supplier involvement in engineering programmes
* Identify and manage supplier risks, including resilience, ESG, and compliance, putting robust mitigation plans in place
* Influence senior stakeholders to embed best-practice SRM and a culture of collaborative supplier partnering across the organisation
About You:
You’re a strategic, relationship-focused supply chain professional who understands that the best results come from working with suppliers, not just buying from them.
You’ll likely have:
* Proven experience in supply chain, procurement, or SRM within engineering, manufacturing, or infrastructure
* A track record of managing key or strategic supplier accounts and driving measurable improvements in performance and value
* A strategic mindset with the confidence to make independent, insight-led decisions
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, able to influence at all levels internally and externally
* Working knowledge of CIPS principles, supplier performance frameworks, and SRM best practice
* Willingness to travel 2–3 days per week for supplier and site engagement
What’s on Offer:
* £55k–£70k + car allowance & bonus
* Hybrid working with flexible access to regional offices
* Structured progression towards senior leadership
* The chance to build and mature an SRM approach that genuinely shapes how the business partners with its most critical suppliers
* A collaborative, forward-thinking team driving real transformation in supply chain strategy and supplier engagement
Be part of a team powering progress through world-class supplier partnerships.
