Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours
This role includes travel to various care homes in and around the M3 & M4 corridor, so a driving licence is essential but a vehical will be provided.
We’re looking for a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our friendly Maintenance Team, helping us keep our care homes safe, comfortable, and beautifully maintained for the people who live and work in them.
What You’ll Do:
1. Carry out all painting and decorating tasks, including preparation, repair, and finishing of internal and external areas.
2. Work safely at height using ladders, scaffolding, and access equipment.
3. Keep work areas clean and minimise disruption to residents and staff.
4. Support general maintenance tasks (e.g. basic plumbing, tiling, minor repairs).
5. Travel between homes as required to support the maintenance team.
6. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety procedures at all times.
What We’re Looking For:
Essential:
7. Robust and high-quality painting and decorating experience with a keen eye for detail
8. Good written and oral communication skills
9. Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team, maintaining a high degree of skill and professionalism
10. Ability to work at height
11. Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
12. Full and clean driving licence
Desirable:
13. Painting and Decorating Qualification
14. Previous experience within a care setting
15. Knowledge of working with people who live with dementia
16. Previous experience of carrying out general maintenance tasks
17. Good IT skills and knowledge including robust skills in using apps and systems on iPads and other IT equipment
