Senior Design Manager
A respected and growing regional Main Contractor known for delivering high quality projects across the commercial, education, residential and façade remediation sectors, with a strong pipeline of secured work are looking for an experienced Senior Design Manager to take leadership in their expanding pre-construction and delivery team.
The Role:
As the Senior Design Manager, you will head up the design function across multiple live and pre-construction projects. You’ll lead a team of two Design Managers, ensuring technical solutions are coordinated, commercially viable and delivered on time. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to step into a leadership position with strategic influence.
Responsibilities for the Senior Design Manager
* Lead and oversee the design process across multiple projects
* Manage and mentor two Design Managers
* Coordinate with internal departments, consultants and subcontractors to ensure efficient design delivery
* Support tender submissions and pre con design strategies
* Ensure compliance with planning, building regs and relevant statutory bodies
* Drive innovation in buildability and value engineering
* Represent the contractor at client, design team and project meeting
* Maintain programme and design risk registers
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Senior Design Manager or ready to step up from a Design Manager role
* Track record of delivering mixed-sector schemes
* Background with a main contractor (regional or )
* Strong leadership and team management skills
* Comfortable working across multiple sectors
* Excellent understanding of UK building regs, technical standards and construction
* Degree in Construction, architecture or engineering or related discipline

* Salary: £80,000 - £90,000
