Overview
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. You will work in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same, playing an important role in day-to-day store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance. You will continuously look for ways to improve service through on the job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, the store will remain a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* I know my customers and serving them with passion and pride, giving great natural service.
* I actively encourage customers to provide feedback on their shopping trip by completing the “have your say” survey.
* I work across all areas of the store including online, the tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to ensure tasks are completed to meet customer needs.
* Put into practice the training I have received to ensure we work safely.
* Take part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
* Understand my store’s performance and the part I play to help deliver profit.
* Follow our values and policies to make everyone feel welcome.
* Clock in and out at the start and end of shifts to ensure accurate pay.
* Follow security procedures, wear safety equipment where available, and keep myself, colleagues and customers safe.
* Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products.
* Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts and explain actions to the customer.
* Maintain a clean, tidy, and organised store by keeping aisles clear.
* May be responsible for running the shift in the absence of the Shift Leader and Store Manager.
* Follow all training to keep the store safe and compliant.
* Post Office Local duties, if applicable, require a Post Office Financial and criminal conviction background check; pass/fail of checks will affect offer.
Qualifications and requirements
* Experience in customer service or retail is beneficial but not explicitly required in the original description.
* Flexible working and involvement in the local community are supported by the employer.
* Commitment to safety, security procedures and legal compliance.
* Availability for shift work and capacity to participate in a range of store activities.
* Disability Confident Leader status indicating commitment to accessibility and reasonable adjustments in recruitment.
