An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Post Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to support the establishment of the Institute for Resilient Health Systems (IRHS). The IRHS is a multi-partner research initiative between the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM), the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), the Malawi Liverpool Wellcome (MLW) Programme, and the Centre for Sexual Health and HIV/AIDS Research (CeSHHAR) in Zimbabwe. The Institute's vision is to strengthen resilient health systems worldwide, with a focus on underserved communities and multi-disciplinary research collaborations.

The post holder will conduct and disseminate research on health system resilience in Kenya, Malawi, the United Kingdom, Zimbabwe, and potentially other countries. You will also contribute to capacity strengthening in resilience research, knowledge translation, and research uptake. This is a 3-month contract.

Key responsibilities will include:

* Developing the Institute's research agenda on health system resilience
* Leading and supporting grant proposal development
* Conducting literature reviews and developing study protocols, data collection tools, and ethical applications
* Liaising with partners in LMICs for data collection, management, analysis, and report writing
* Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals
* Producing and disseminating research outputs as part of research uptake and communication strategies
* Contributing research ideas and participating in planning research activities
* Supporting teaching and capacity strengthening activities within LSTM

You will possess:

* A PhD in health or health-related social science discipline with research skills component
* Experience designing and conducting research, including data collection and analysis in LMICs
* A strong track record of academic publications in peer-reviewed journals
* Applied research skills relevant to health systems, including qualitative and/or quantitative methods
* Excellent communication, organisational, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
