A full time, 12 month fixed term post has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic person to work for the Knowsley Clinical Admin Service. The receptionist post is based at the Huyton Walk In Centre. The post holder will be customer focused and provide a comprehensive service. Communication and organisational skills are essential. They must have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to organise and prioritise their work schedule. They must be able to work on their own initiative, with excellent telephone manner and respectful confidentiality. Previous experience is desirable. They must also be willing to work across all sites as required. The service is open Monday to Sunday 8.00am to 21.00 pm and shifts are allocated according to service needs. You will be required to cover sickness and absence.

These duties are within the context of working for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust.


Responsibilities

* Receive and direct patients and visitors on arrival at the centre, providing reception services for patients, staff, the public, internal and external customers and organisations, ensuring sensitivity when dealing with distressing situations.
* Answer telephone calls using the switchboard system, receive and process incoming and outgoing telephone calls, take messages and respond appropriately to maintain effective communication channels.
* Sort and distribute mail to all departments.
* Assist with the collection of data to produce standardised computer generated information for managers as required.
* Maintain filing systems and other records as required, ensuring they are up to date and accurate; implement changes to systems and procedures as directed.
* Participate in meetings as required.
* Ensure a professional approach to work, maintaining confidentiality throughout. Monitor security within the building. Ensure reception and waiting areas are kept clean, tidy and safe.
* Report and record sickness, absences and any incidents or accidents in accordance with Trust Policy.
* Staff may be required to work from other bases within the organisation.


Qualifications and Skills

* Customer-focused with strong communication and organisational skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative and manage a varied workload with an excellent telephone manner and respectful confidentiality.
* Previous reception/administrative experience is desirable.
* Willingness to work across all sites as required.


Other information

Flexible working requests will be considered for all roles. Applicants may need to enrol in the DBS Update Service; the role may require an enhanced DBS check in certain circumstances.
