The post holder will be responsible for promoting awareness and high standards of health, safety and security management for all the Trust’s employees in addition to undertaking inspections, audits and risk assessments to ensure a safe environment for staff, patients, visitors and members of the public. To undertake effective health, safety and security management advisory and assurance work to ensure safe operation within the physical environment in which healthcare is delivered.
Main duties of the job
1. Providing Health and Safety advice and support to all levels of staff,
2. Undertaking risk assessments, site inspections, other audits and completion of
3. detailed reports for sites visited,
4. Ensuring that identified issues are communicated to the appropriate manager or duty holder,
5. To undertake reporting and investigations into RIDDOR or other relevant incidents,
6. Undertake the production of accurate data and reports on trends, themes and levels of compliance,
7. Action and respond to safety alerts,
8. Participate in the delivery of training to Trust staff.

Person specification
Education and Qualifications
Essential criteria
16. NEBOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety or equivalent qualification/experience
17. Degree level education or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
18. A qualification or advanced training course in risk management or resilience (emergency planning)
19. A teaching qualification equivalent to postgraduate/diploma level ( Cert Ed)
20. Leadership qualification ILM Level 3 or above
Experience
Essential criteria
21. Experience of working within a Health and Safety, Security Management and/or Risk Management role
22. Experience of setting up and maintaining databases/spread sheets
23. Knowledge and experience of using InPhase/DATIX Risk Management System
Desirable criteria

25. Experience of working within a clinical environment/ Patient setting

The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. You will be required to enrol for this service for a fee of £16 per year and maintain registration throughout your employment with GMMH.
