Overview
This cross‑disciplinary Therapy Assistant role supports Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists on Heath Farm School. The position works closely with the therapy team, education staff and families to provide evidence‑based assessments, interventions and support pupils to engage in meaningful activities.
Responsibilities
* Provide evidence‑based assessments and interventions under supervision of qualified clinicians.
* Assist with the creation of communication and sensory profiles, contribute to placement plans and deliver tailored interventions.
* Observe sessions, co‑facilitate staff training, attend multi‑agency meetings and support ongoing service development.
* Collaborate with the education team and families to meet the instructional and therapeutic needs of pupils.
* Deliver both 1:1 and group sessions under supervision.
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above), including English.
* Evidence of relevant Post‑16 education.
* Willingness to work towards further qualifications as required.
* Experience as a therapy assistant or in a similar role (advantageous).
* Experience working within an educational setting (advantageous).
* Strong teamwork skills.
* Knowledge of working with children and young people with SEN.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills for conveying complex, technical information.
* Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
