We are seeking a Bid Writer for a translation and interpretation services company. The successful candidate will have knowledge of health and social care provision and/or local authority/NHS commissioning and procurement regulations. Excellent organisational skills and a project management approach are essential, as is the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
The role involves coordinating responses for pre-qualification, framework, and tender submissions, often under tight deadlines requiring coordination, planning, multi-tasking, and time management. Producing accurate, professional responses independently or as part of a team is vital.
Responsibilities include:
1. Reviewing and understanding client prequalification and tender documentation
2. Interpreting questions to identify ‘winning themes’ and constructing response templates
3. Interviewing team members to formulate responses
4. Researching clients and projects to tailor responses
5. Editing technical work for structure, readability, and correctness
6. Drafting and writing PQQ and bid responses using persuasive language
7. Checking drafts for completeness and sourcing additional information
8. Communicating effectively with team members
9. Meeting tight deadlines while maintaining quality
10. Collaborating with the team and suggesting improvements
11. Producing presentations, organisation charts, CVs, and supporting documents
12. Designing bid folders and dividers
13. Supporting the Bid Manager with project details and bid library updates, including travel if necessary
14. Assisting in proposal and bid information updates
15. Responding to information requests accurately and promptly
16. Understanding business continuity processes
17. Performing other team support activities as required
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
* Bid writing experience or training
* Journalism or marketing background
* Proven experience in high-quality pre-qualification, tender, and framework submissions
* Experience within a translation company (desirable)
* Framework submission experience (desirable)
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Team and individual work capability
* Client-focused attitude
* Excellent IT skills, including bid writing and graphic software such as InDesign (desirable)
* Full driving licence (desirable)
