We are seeking an experienced and qualified Technical Trainer to deliver Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Technical Training (BTT) and ECITB-accredited Bolting courses to delegates across the wind energy and wider industrial sectors.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
* Deliver GWO BTT modules including Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical and Installation
* Deliver ECITB Bolting courses covering mechanical joint integrity, bolt tightening techniques, torque and tension methods, and relevant safety practices
* Assess delegate competence through practical and theoretical assessments in line with awarding body requirements
* Maintain accurate training records, registers, and assessment documentation
* Ensure all training equipment is maintained, fit for purpose, and compliant with relevant standards
* Stay current with GWO standard updates, ECITB scheme revisions, and industry best practice
* Support course coordination and administration as required
* Contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials and delivery methods
* Promote a positive, inclusive learning environment for all delegates
Essential Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following two profiles:
Profile A – Qualified Trainer
* Holds current GWO BTT Instructor authorisation across one or more modules
* Holds ECITB Bolting Assessor/Trainer accreditation (Mechanical Joint Integrity)
* Recognised training or education qualification
Profile B – Industry Experienced (Trainee Trainer Pathway)
* Significant hands-on industry experience in a relevant technical role, such as: Electrician / Electrical Technician
* Mechanical Fitter / Engineer
* Bolting Technician / Mechanical Joint Integrity Specialist
* Wind Turbine Technician
* Offshore or Industrial Maintenance Technician
* Able to demonstrate strong practical knowledge of the subject matter they will be trained to deliver
* Willing to work towards GWO Instructor authorisation and/or ECITB accreditation, supported by the company
All candidates must also demonstrate:
* Strong understanding of relevant health & safety legislation and safe systems of work
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to varied audiences
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel to deliver training at various sites or client premises
Desirable Requirements
* Additional GWO certifications (e.g. Advanced Rescue, Enhanced First Aid)
* ECITB accreditation in additional schemes (e.g. Rigging & Slinging, Pipefitting)
* Previous experience in a training, coaching, or mentoring capacity, even informally
* Experience with digital training platforms and e-learning tools
* Offshore experience
