An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Associate Director of Structural Engineering to join the Oxfordshire office and play a key role in its continued expansion. This strategic position offers the opportunity to support regional growth, strengthen client relationships, and lead the delivery of complex structural engineering projects across a diverse range of sectors.
The Role
This role is ideally suited to a commercially aware and technically strong Chartered Structural Engineer seeking a leadership position within a collaborative consultancy environment.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading structural engineering projects through all stages of delivery
Managing and mentoring engineers and technicians
Developing and maintaining client relationships across the region
Supporting fee proposals, tenders, and business development activities
Acting as a primary technical and client contact on projects
Reviewing calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
Ensuring compliance with relevant design standards and regulations
Coordinating effectively with architects, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:
Degree qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering
Chartered status with ICE or IStructE
Strong consultancy experience within structural engineering
Proven track record delivering building and infrastructure projects
Excellent communication and client management skills
Experience leading teams and overseeing project delivery
Proficiency with industry-standard design software including Tekla and Tedds
Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and UK Building Regulations
BIM/Revit experience would be beneficial
