LOCATION: Salford
PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: £85,000 – £10,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Do you want to help BBC Sport reach new audiences through compelling documentary and long read content? We are now seeking an Executive Producer to join BBC Sport. You will be the editorial lead for all evergreen storytelling content across video, audio and written platforms, ensuring delivery is on time and to the highest possible quality.

YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT

* Lead the Sport+ team and the Sport+ Leadership Group to ensure ideation and production is joined up across platforms, delivering against audience and platform strategies.
* Develop, drive and deliver the best ideas for successful evergreen content for BBC Sport across video, audio and written platforms.
* Ensure Sport+ works closely with Stories and Events leads to enable BBC Sport to be best in class at telling sport stories.
* Jointly accountable, with the Head of Production, for budget and resource allocation to maximise impact and ensure delivery within budget.
* Partner with Head of Production to manage referred risks across productions.
* Oversee use of talent and production staff, ensuring progression and diversity.
* Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve workflows and resourcing.
* Work with CRBA and other stakeholders to secure sports rights and explore commercial growth.
* Set objectives for the Sport+ Content Editor and Senior Content Producer, ensuring clear communication of briefs.
* Foster a culture of collaboration across editorial, production management, tech and ops.
* Lead initiatives to improve workforce diversity, leadership quality and staff development.
* Drive audience-facing reviews and continuous improvement of output.
* Stay at the forefront of audience insight, industry trends and innovation opportunities.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

* Proven experience of senior editorial leadership delivering top-level, high-profile sport content.
* Strong knowledge of how sport works and is consumed in the UK.
* Ability to oversee and deliver content adaptable across multiple platforms.
* A dynamic, forward-thinking, collaborative creative leader.
* A champion for team culture and development.
* Experience leading large teams through change.
* Strong understanding of the evolving media and production landscape, especially in sport.
