Supervisor (PTS)
Rail – Civil Engineering Asset Maintenance
Location: Inverness, Scotland
Due to an increase in workload across our Reactive Minor Works Framework, we are seeking an experienced PTS Supervisor to join our team supporting works from our Inverness depot and surrounding area. This is a key role delivering reactive and planned maintenance works across rail infrastructure, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution across a variety of civil and rail environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise site teams (direct and subcontract labour)
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards
* Deliver works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, Work Package Plans (WPPs) and Task Briefs
* Promote a strong safety‑first culture and report any unsafe conditions
* Monitor progress and ensure works are completed on time and within scope
* Maintain accurate site records including diaries and plant logs
* Provide regular updates to the Project Manager / Site Agent
* Manage changes in scope and escalating issues when required
* Identify training needs and support workforce development
Essential Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a Supervisor within rail or civil engineering
* Strong background in rail maintenance / reactive works environments
* Experience supervising multi‑disciplinary civils works
* Good understanding of Network Rail standards and site procedures
Qualifications
* PTS (Personal Track Safety)
* SMSTS – Essential
* Relevant civil engineering or supervisory qualifications – desirable
