This is a temporary position to last for 4 months with the possibility of long term for the correct candidate.
The League of Friends, based in Royal Berkshire Hospital are looking for a cafe assistant to help out in their busy coffee shop to cover leave. Minimum 10 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, sandwiches, and pastries
- Operate cash register and handle customer transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe, including dining area, kitchen, and restrooms
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure proper handling and storage of food items
- Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies and monitoring stock levels
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries and resolving any issues or complaints
Requirements:
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating change
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks and ensure efficient service
- Previous experience in food preparation or customer service is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices is a plus
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members
