A leading engineering organisation within the rail sector is seeking a Project Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale rail systems projects from planning through to successful completion.
This role sits within a specialist projects function and is responsible for managing complex, multi-stakeholder engineering programmes in a highly regulated environment.
Key responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end delivery of major rail systems projects
* Define scope, objectives, deliverables, and delivery plans
* Manage budgets, resources, and commercial performance
* Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders
* Maintain client relationships across key project interfaces
* Track progress, manage risk, and control change
* Provide regular reporting to senior leadership
* Ensure HSEQ compliance and robust risk management practices
Requirements
* Degree in engineering or a related technical discipline
* Proven experience delivering technical projects at system level
* Strong background in rail or similarly regulated engineering sectors
* Experience managing commercial and contractual aspects of projects
* Knowledge of project management frameworks (PRINCE2 or APM preferred)
* Strong understanding of planning tools, risk, and change control
* Demonstrated leadership of teams and stakeholders
