JOB ROLE:
A motivated Infrastructure Engineer to join our infrastructure team. In this role, you will assist in maintaining and supporting infrastructure services for key accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with knowledge of Linux operating systems and a keen interest in gaining hands-on experience with new technologies while contributing to the performance and reliability of customer solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
* Infrastructure Support:
* Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of servers and networks.
* Monitor infrastructure performance and security, responding to alerts and resolving issues as needed.
* Support Linux-based servers and ensure they are operating optimally and securely.
* Collaborate with senior engineers to implement infrastructure improvements, upgrades, and server builds.
* Technical Troubleshooting:
* Provide first-level support for infrastructure-related incidents, escalating complex issues to senior engineers.
* Help troubleshoot issues related to servers, networking, and security configurations.
* Understand and learn about network aggregators and test access ports (TAPS)
* Documentation & Learning:
* Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and incident reports.
* Document current internal processes and assist in improving internal automation processes.
* Develop basic scripting skills to automate tasks and streamline workflows.
* Continuously learn new tools, technologies, and best practices in infrastructure management and cybersecurity.
* Participate in internal training and development sessions to expand your skills.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
* Understanding of Linux systems administration (RedHat, Ubuntu, CentOS, etc.).
* Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, and VPNs.
* Interest in cybersecurity principles and a willingness to learn about security tools and best practices.
* Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
* Familiarity with automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
* Basic understanding of network tools and protocols.
* Understand the concepts of a Red Hat Satellite server, and its functionality.
* Have experience in the telecommunications and broadcast industry.
* Network Aggregator hardware (Keysight technology)
Additional Responsibilities:
* Infrastructure alert remediation.
* Site visits for any emergency network services issues.
* Cover for Returns (RMA) process.
* Enhanced support for bespoke Managed Services customers where needed.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
