Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Lead to join our Cybersecurity Investigations team. This role manages technical operations, ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of digital assets through proactive and reactive cybersecurity measures. The successful candidate will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with global leads and client partners to support the UK timezone of our global service team.
This role is 100% remote, based in the UK, with flexible hours to support global operations. It reports to our US-based Service Delivery team and works closely with clients in the UK and US.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership by mentoring and developing cybersecurity professionals, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing environment through effective management of performance, recruitment, and training initiatives.
* Build and develop team capabilities via training programs, quality assurance activities, and skill gap analysis.
* Oversee daily technical operations, ensuring compliance with client security protocols.
* Manage incident response and forensic investigations, following client parameters and suggesting process improvements.
* Lead long-term initiatives such as global alignment projects, process development, change management, and reporting.
* Stay updated on new investigation types and ensure team skills are current.
* Act as the primary technical liaison with the client and other departments, preparing reports and presentations on security trends and risk mitigation.
* Monitor scheduling, attendance, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
* Escalate performance and morale concerns to relevant teams for support.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity, or related field.
* Cybersecurity certification (e.g., CISSP, CISM, or equivalent).
* At least 10 years of experience in cybersecurity operations or similar roles.
* At least 5 years of active investigation experience in an IR team, preferably in a global enterprise environment.
* Proven leadership and management experience in technical teams.
* Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, IAM).
* Proficiency with cybersecurity tools (SIEM, SOAR, SAS, Sandboxes, EDR, cloud technologies).
* Knowledge of access control, cloud technologies (CNAPP, CSPM), data retention, and encryption.
* Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
* Experience presenting to clients and cross-functional teams.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Preferred: participation in cybersecurity communities, knowledge of programming languages, forensic investigation experience.
